Image of a stone monument on a rise. The monument is surmounted with the shield of the State of New York. There is a bas-relief in the center of men preparing a cannon. Written on a ribbon at the top of the bas-relief: Battery I First Regiment N.Y. Light Artillery. On the bottom of the bas-relief: Capt. M. Wiedrich, Commanding. Engraved at the base of the monument: 2nd. Division 11th. Corps July 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, 1863. Image of the tall columnar monument to the 140th Pennsylvania Infantry. At the top of the monument is a drum, below that the shamrock emblem of the Union Army's 2nd Corps is prominently carved into the stone. At the base of the monument there is tablet which reads: The regiment engaged / the enemy on this / position late in the / afternoon of July 2d., / succeeding 5th Corps / troops and holding the / right of the 1st Division / 2d. Corps supported / battery on left centre / July 3rd. / Present at Gettysburg 589 officers and men./ Killed and died of wounds, 3 officers 50 men. / Wounded, 8 " 120 " / Captured or missing. 3 " 57 " / Total 241. Monument honoring the 57th Pennsylvania Infantry, 1st Brigade, 1st Division, 3rd Corps

Image of the monument to the 57th Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteers. The monument is obelisk in shape, however the top is draped in a carved American flag. Beneath the draped flag is the diamond symbol of the Union 3rd Army Carps and a bronze plaque depicting the coat of arms of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Written on the front: 57th Penn'a. / Veteran Vol's. / 1st Brig. 1st Div. / 3rd Corps. / The Regiment occupied / this position, exposed to a / heavy artillery fire on the / afternoon of July 2, for two / hours, when it advanced 170 / feet and engaged the enemy. On the side of the monument are the statistics for that day. There is a split rail fence behind the monument. At the bottom of the photograph is a number in white: 1084. The photograph has been affixed to a card with the photographer's signature and "Gettysburg, Pa." printed in gold lettering at the bottom.
