Image of a stone monument on a rise. The monument is surmounted with the shield of the State of New York. There is a bas-relief in the center of men preparing a cannon. Written on a ribbon at the top of the bas-relief: Battery I First Regiment N.Y. Light Artillery. On the bottom of the bas-relief: Capt. M. Wiedrich, Commanding. Engraved at the base of the monument: 2nd. Division 11th. Corps July 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, 1863. On the front is a wheel, behind which are crossed ramrods, and on either side cannon.
