  One manufacturer's advertisement/drawing book entitled Tiny Tots Drawing Book, published by Emerson Piano Co., Boston, Massachusetts, ca. 1885. Printed at the bottom of the front cover is "4- Little Pets." This 8-page booklet contains several images on each of the 8 pages, with leaves of tracing paper bound in between each leaf, for tracing. The front and back covers are chromolithographs; the front cover features a little girl holding two rabbits; the back cover features a smaller image of a little girl near a rosebush. Printed on the back cover is: "Compliments of Emerson Piano Co., 110 Boylston Street, Boston, Mass. Western Branch: 195 Wabash Ave., Chicago." Images for tracing include a horse, a pony, chickens, birds and rabbits. Some of the images have been traced. A blue ink stamp on the back cover reads: "Frank M. Grow, Sole Agent, Rutland. VT." "Winslow Bowen" is written in ms., in pencil, along the outer edge of the front cover.

  Heinz Kindergarten Book, No. 5: Pictures to Trace, Jingles to Learn

  One tracing book/manufacturer's advertisement entitled Heinz Kindergarten Book, No. 5: Pictures to Trace, Jingles to Learn, published by H.J. Heinz Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, ca. 1910. The front cover is illustrated with an image of a seated boy and girl who are reading a book together. The inside front cover contains manufacturer's advterising text, and the inside back cover lists "Some interesting facts about H. J. Heinz Co." The back cover contains the Heinz pickle logo with the number 57 below it. The tracing book is 16 unnumbered pages in length; on each page is an illustration for copying, accompanied by a short jingle or rhyme that advertises Heinz products. Each page is covered by a sheet of tracing paper. The last two pages of the book list "some of the 57" varieties of food products made by the company. Some of the tracing sheets have been used. "Frank Richard" is written in ms., in pencil, on the front cover.

  One joint drawing and tracing book entitled Drawing and Tracing Book, published by McLoughlin Bros., New York, copyright 1898. This book is comprised of 8 lithograph plates of images for both copying and tracing, with 8 leaves of tracing paper bound in front of each plate. The front cover is a chromolithograph scene of a little girl, holding a doll and a cat, crossing a wooden bridge and looking at a goat kid in her path. The title is above the picture. The back cover is a blue and white pattern design. The title page reads: Amusement for Little Children. Drawing and Tracing Book. The images for tracing are domestic and farm animals. On the inside of the front cover is some brief text about the benefits of tracing and drawing for children. "Ethel Grant- May 3" is written in ms, in pencil, at the top of the title page.

  One tracing book entitled The Favorite Drawing and Tracing Book, published by Graham & Matlack, New York, ca. 1900. "0201 Tracing Book Series" is printed in the lower right-hand corner of the front cover. This book is comprised of 8 unnumbered plates of black and white images for tracing. Bound in front of each plate is a sheet of tracing paper. The front and back covers are chromolithograph images; the front cover shows two puppies leaning over an easel; the back cover features an oval vignette of two children on a wooden sled. The illustrations for tracing are whimsical in nature; they feature animals dressed in clothing, often doing silly things like riding snails. The insides of the front and back covers are blank. All of the leaves of tracing paper have been used to some extent.

  One tracing book entitled Tracing Book, Pencil Pictures, published by Charles E. Graham & Co., New York, ca. 1900. The series title is 0202--Junior Drawing Series (printed in the lower right-hand corner of the cover). The chromolithograph cover of the tracing book shows two young girls in front of a blackboard preparing to use colored chalk. The back cover shows a girl, two drawings and a toy. The book is comprised of 8 leaves of images for tracing, and 8 leaves of tracing paper, bound in front of each image. The images are of animals and include a pheasant, cats, a tiger, horses and a cow. Some of the images have been traced onto the paper provided. "Elizabeth Parker" is written in ms. on the inside front cover. "$2.00" (price) is written in ms., in pencil, in the upper right-hand corner of the front cover.

This promotional booklet is comprised of 8 pages of illustrations and 8 leaves of tracing paper, one over each page. The chromolithograph front cover shows a seated boy, writing at a table. The inside of the front cover advertises several different models of Singer sewing machines. "Copyright 1900 Singer Mfg. Co." is printed, in very light ink, at the bottom of the front cover.
