This promotional booklet is comprised of 8 pages of illustrations and 8 leaves of tracing paper, one over each page. The chromolithograph front cover shows a seated boy, writing at a table. The inside of the front cover advertises several different models of Singer sewing machines. "Copyright 1900 Singer Mfg. Co." is printed, in very light ink, at the bottom of the front cover.

    One painting book, copyright 1938, entitled The Lone Ranger Paint Book: with Silver and Tonto, illustrated by Ted Horn, published by Whitman Publishing Company, Racine, Wisconsin. This book is 32 unnumbered pages in length, and is comprised of labeled outline illustrations, each of which is signed "Ted." The front cover is a color image of the Lone Ranger on his horse, against a yellow background. "Hi-Yo Silver!" is printed above the title. "621" is printed in the lower left-hand corner of the front cover. The back cover is a duplicate of the front. The title page is illustrated with a front view of Silver's head. "Copyright 1938, by The Lone Ranger, Inc." is printed below the publisher's statement at the bottom of the title page. The outline images are captioned, such as: "The Lone Ranger and Silver"; "Tonto Senses Danger"; and "The Sheriff Surveys the Scene". Some of the images have been colored with crayon.

    One painting book, copyright 1932, entitled The Easy to Paint Book, by Helen Schwarz, published by Whitman Publishing Company, Racine, Wisconsin. This book is comprised of 48 unnumbered pages of colored and black and white illustrations for painting. The front cover features an orange, white and black illustration of three children looking at a painting book. The same image appears on the back cover along with the title "The Painting Book." Printed on the inside of the front cover are "Instructions for Painting Book"; the last of which is "NEVER put your brush in your mouth." Printed at the bottom of the inside front cover: "W684. Copyright 1932 Whitman Publishing Company, Racine, Wisconsin, Printed in U.S.A." Throughout the book, illustrations appear as pairs of colored and uncolored images. Many have been filled in with watercolor.

    One joint drawing and tracing book entitled Drawing and Tracing Book, published by McLoughlin Bros., New York, copyright 1898. This book is comprised of 8 lithograph plates of images for both copying and tracing, with 8 leaves of tracing paper bound in front of each plate. The front cover is a chromolithograph scene of a little girl, holding a doll and a cat, crossing a wooden bridge and looking at a goat kid in her path. The title is above the picture. The back cover is a blue and white pattern design. The title page reads: Amusement for Little Children. Drawing and Tracing Book. The images for tracing are domestic and farm animals. On the inside of the front cover is some brief text about the benefits of tracing and drawing for children. "Ethel Grant- May 3" is written in ms, in pencil, at the top of the title page.

The cover title reads: Drawing and Tracing Book: Boats and Houses. This book is comprised of 8 lithograph plates of images for drawing and tracing. The front and back covers are chromolithographs; the front cover features a bespectacled little girl, seated at a table, painting in a coloring book. The back cover reads: "First lessons in drawing for children" and has a decorative, floral design below the words. The publisher's statement is in the lower left-hand corner of the front cover: "Copyright 1898, McLoughlin Bros. New York." The images inside the book are the same as those in Box 33, env. 03. These images have been traced in pencil and colored in with crayons. "Helen A. Bailey" is written in ms., in pencil, across the bottom of the front cover.

    One book, copyright 1934, entitled Puppetry: An Educational Adventure, by Virginia Murphy, published by Art Education Press, Inc., New York. The front cover, a red and yellow image of two marionettes, was designed and signed by Venizelos Kanellis. This book is 24 pages in length, and is illustrated with black and white photographs and sketches. Included in the book are instructions for making marionettes, stage setting, stage construction and play selection and performance. On the inside of the front cover is "Copyright, 1934, by Art Education Press, Inc." and "Printed in the United States of America by the Rumford Press, Concord, New Hampshire." A blue ink stamp reading "For sale by The Palmer Company, 120 Boylston St., Boston, Mass." is printed at the bottom of the title page.
