    One order form entitled Announcement: Turner Picture Studies and Picture Study Prints, published by Horace K. Turner Co., Boston, Massachusetts, ca. 1910. This 4-page form (1 sheet folded to create a 4-page leaflet) organizes images for sale by school grade, from Grade 1 through "Fourth Year High." The last page is the actual order form, with a printed date of "190_". A pencil ms. note at the bottom of the last page reads "1935". This form was laid into a catalog entitled Turner Art Catalogue, HEH RB# 603411.

    One price list/advertisement entitled Picture Studies for School Use, published ca. 1935-1940 by F.A. Owen Publishing Company, Dansville, New York. At the top of the front cover of this publisher's advertisement is "Instructor Picture Study Series." This advertisement and price list is a single sheet, folded into 6 pages. It is illustrated with black and white sample images, and is printed in black and orange. It states that reproductions are available both in miniature and in a larger format (9 3/4 in. x 12 3/4 in.), provides a list of subjects available, and categorizes some of the images into appropriate grade levels.

It is Vol. XIII, Whole No. 22, October 21, 1940. This 6-page leaflet is an advertisement for an extension course offered November 1940-January 1941. The dates of each lecture and brief, illustrated biographical sketches of each of the speakers are given. A typed mailing address is printed on the first page: "Jennie V. Ruth, 1 Marchant St., Gloucester, Mass 4B-25".

This 8-page brochure is an advertisement for a program offered by Harvard Summer School. In it are listed the courses offered, a description of the art workshop, the staff, facilities, social life, fees and credits, and an address to write for further information. Accompanying this brochure is a business reply postcard to subscribe to the Official Register of Harvard University. Also accompanying this leaflet is a mailing envelope addressed to "Miss Mabel Spofford, Supervisor of Drawing, Public Schools, Gloucester, Mass."

    One drawing book/leaflet entitled Easy Pictures for Slate Drawing, published by Lyon Manufacturing Co., New York, ca. 1860. This item is a promotional advertisement for several products: Lyon's Magnetic Insect Powder; Mexican Mustang Liniment; Hagan's Magnolia Balm; Plantation Bitters and Lyon's Kathairon. On one side of this 10-page accordian-folded leaflet there are 5 advertisements (four of which with woodcut illustrations); the other side consists of the front cover (printed in red, black and white) and four "pages" of white-on-black illustrations, made to look like slate drawings. The images for copying include domestic and farm animals. All of the pages are unnumbered. "4-" (price) is written in ms. in the upper right-hand corner of the front cover.

    One advertisement entitled How You Can Study Original Drawings by America's Great Cartoonists, published by The Reserve Publishing Co., Cleveland, Ohio, ca. 1920. On the verso of the advertisement is printed: "How You Can Study Original Drawings by Great Cartoonists". The sheet advertises "typical examples of the work of six famous American cartoonists, from which etchings have been made of the principal figures exactly the same size as in each original." The cartoonists represented are: "Donahey of 'The Cleveland Plain Dealer'; McCutcheon of 'The Chicago Tribune'; Frost in 'Collier's Weekly'; Davenport of 'The New York Journal'; May of 'The Cleveland Leader'; and Hoban of 'The New York Journal'". The set includes six proofs in a portfolio, for the price of $2.00. This advertisement is illustrated with three sample cartoons from three of the aforementioned cartoonists; the illustrations are in a vertical line along the right-hand side of the page.
