    Page 1 contains a small illustration of the news letter's heading which depicts a steamer, a train, and a man riding what appears to be a camel. There is a larger illustration at the bottom of p.1 which depicts several top-hatted men reading about the news of the Frazer River gold mines. The text on the page contains various pieces of California news. "Charles F. Robbins, Printer, cor. Clay and battery sts., San Francisco.
