Kashnor notes, "Locates Nieuw Netherland Territory, with Nieu Amsterdam on Manhattan, and Hellegat, also Nieu Plimouth and Briston in Nieu England." McCorkle gives 1635 date, suggests that Lake Iricoisiensis is confusion between Lake Champlain and Lake Winnepessaukee. Map was first published in 1635, and the Dutch text on the verso, along with the signature, indicate the same date (Van der Krogt, map 9310:2; Burden, map 241).
