See also Museum Bookstore 093:493 where the following notes describe this map. Kashnor notes, "Locates Nieuw Netherlandt Territory, with Nieu Amsterdam on Manhattan, and Hellegat, also Nieu Plimouth and Briston in Nieu England." McCorkle gives 1635 date, suggests that Lake Iricoisiensis is confusion between Lake Champlain and Lake Winnepessaukee. Map was first published in 1635, but the Dutch text on the verso, along with the signature, indicate a later date (Van der Krogt, map 9310:2; Burden, map 241). MS note on this map suggests 1630 date.
