Kashnor notes, "Shows California as an island, and the imaginary Strait of Anian. This is one of the decorative type, richly colored." Shirley notes this map originates with that of Arnold Colom, c.1655, which supplied the surround scenes. This map was modified by de Wit and used by Doncker in his Zee Atlas (does NOT appear in the Doncker atlas owned by the Huntington, RB 70778). Kashnor dates as 1665, Shirley as 1676. Florida extends across the Gulf Coast. Lowery states "This map is reprinted with the same title and same plate in Jansson, 1642." Cartouche: reptiles and putti. Dedication: Figures and coat of arms, "Amplmo. prudmo. doctmoque. viro D. Alberto Conradi vander Burch, I.C. Reip. Amsterdamensis Senatori, Collegii Scabinorum Praesidi, Societatis Indicae, quae ad Occidentem militat, aßeßori, et nuper ad Magnum Moscoviae Ducem Legato."
