  Visual Materials

  A slightly elevated panoramic view of a movie colony off of Coldwater Canyon Road, in the hills of Beverly Hills. The houses, or mansions, are spread along the curving road, which leads through the hills and looks out over the San Fernando Valley. Most of the houses are extremely large, and many have a pool or tennis court. Writing in white in bottom right corner reads "Photo by Osborne ; 1572 W. Pico, LA FD(?) 1716 - 1938".

  A slightly elevated panoramic view of Beverly Hills, showing City Hall, parks, and residential and commercial areas. Beverly Gardens Park, with its wide lawns, young trees, and lily ponds, separates the residential area beyond it, filled with palm-lined streets and houses, from the commercial area on the right, with the Security First National Bank of Los Angeles, the Beverly Hills Community Store, and the Beverly Hills Realty Co. The road stretching from the bottom left corner, past the towering City Hall building on the right, is Santa Monica. There are light rail lines along the near side of Santa Monica. There are several automobiles parked on the near side of the street on the right, but only one on the far side of the street, left of center.
