A note from Freddie Miller states there is no formal copy of the speech.     Three copies of a speech Otis Chandler gave at the Institutional Investor Conference on March 20, 1974. One of the copies is a revised copy that was planned on being used for print, as stated by a note attached to it from Stender E. Sweeney, Times Mirror Company Director of Finance. Other items in this folder include a pamphlet with notes written on the cover; a page of follow up notes that list names and the companies the people are associated with; two thank you letters from Otis Chandler to Gustave L. Levy of Goldman, Sachs & Co., and to John H. Gutfreund of Salomon Brothers; a thank you letter from Heidi Fiske, Vice President and Barbara Munder, Conference Programming Manager, of Institutional Investor Systems, Inc.; two pieces of correspondence between Otis Chandler and J. Kendrick Noble, Jr., vice President of Auerbach, Pollak & Richardson, in which they discuss the turn out; two pieces of correspondence between Otis Chandler and Sidney J. Weinberg, Jr., Partner at Goldman Sachs & Co., in which they thank each other; two pieces of correspondence between Otis Chandler and William Morris of Salomon Brothers.

    Three copies of a speech given by Otis Chandler before the Young President's Organization in Dallas, Texas on September 11, 1974. One of the copies has a note from Freddie Miller which states that said mention copy was the intended speech, but was revised and in the end not given. Other items in this folder include an edited version of the speech with a note from Paul D. Quadros attached to it; two pieces of correspondence from Alan B. Gilman, Chairman of the Board of Sanger-Harris in which he provides Otis Chandler with information about the two speaking engagements; a letter of apology from Emmie Ford, The Times Herald Printing Company, for losing the speech; four thank you letters; three pieces of correspondence, two thank you letters from Alan B. Gilman and response from Otis Chandler. One of the thank you letters was address to James F. Chambers, Jr.

    The Adcraft Club of Detroit Luncheon

    Six copies of a speech that Otis Chandler gave to the Detroit Adcraft Club on Friday, October 3, 1969. Two of the copies included an introduction. Also included in this folder are two copies of a newspaper clippings from The Detroit News; a copy of The Adcrafter; five pieces of correspondence between Robert D. Nelson, Watts Wacker, Senior Vice President of D.P. Brother & Company, and John L. Scolaro, Senior Vice President of Cresmer, Woodward, O'Mara & Ormsbee, Inc., regarding Otis Chandler accepting the invitation to be speaker; a belated letter of praise from Peter B. Clark, President and Publisher of The Evening News Association; two pieces of correspondence between Lee H. Wilson, Executive Secretary of The Adcraft Club of Detroit, and Freddie Miller, confirming Otis Chandler's acceptance, discussion about biographical information and accommodations; two pieces of correspondence with John L. Sterling, Vice President of Newspaper 1, in which Sterling praises Chandler, and Chandler responds with a thank you letter; two pieces of correspondence with Theodore H. Mecke, Jr., Vice President of Public Affairs at Ford Motor Company,in which Mecke praises Chandler and Chandler responds with a thank you letter; two pieces of correspondence with John L. Scolaro, in which Scolaro forwards Chandler a story about the speech, and Chandler responds with a thank you letter; two pieces of correspondence with Lee H. Wilson, in which Wilson forwards a copy of The Adcrafter, and Chandler responds with a thank you letter; two pieces of correspondence with Susan Schneyer, Associate Producer of The Lou Gordon Program, in which he is invited to appear, but Chandler responds with a letter declining, also attached to these letters is memo from Gordon Phillips to Freddie Miller with information about the show; two pieces of correspondence with John L. Scolaro, dealing with suggestions for the speech, and Chandler responds with a thank you letter, also attached to these letters is a note from Don Maldonado informing that the memo came from the regular Detroit mail to the advertising people.

    A copy of a speech Otis Chandler gave at the Texaco Round Table on March 14, 1973. Attached to the speech is a memo from Freddie Miller which informs Otis Chandler of the activities of the day. Other items in this folder include a newspaper page; two thank you letters from Douglas D. Barman, Chairman at of The Texaco Round Table, one address to Freddie Miller and the other to Otis Chandler; a two page letter from L.R. Christy, Vice-Chairman of the Texaco Round Table, inviting Otis Chandler to speak.

    Three copies of a speech given by Otis Chandler at the Fourth Annual Institutional Investor Conference on March 18, 1971. These copies are printed leaflets. Other items in this folder include a copy of a newspaper article; a thank you letter from Heidi Fiske, Director of Conference Programming at Institutional Investor Systems, Inc.; a letter from Richard F. Colabella, Conference Director of Fourth Annual Institutional Investor Conference, in which he invites Chandler to the Conference Exposition Center; a note from Sandy Hewitt to Freddie Miller informing Miller that 2,500 copies of the speech have been mailed out; a letter from Heidi Fiske in which she forwards Chandler the speaker information materials; six items which included a note from Freddie Miller; a letter from Edwin Gill of Cogan, Berlind, Weill & Levitt, Inc. which he informs Chandler that he [Gill] has been selected as chair for the publishing industry panel, pages one and two of the speaker information materials, a copy of the speech, and a copy of the program; pages three and seven through twelve.
