    Two copies of a speech given by Otis Chandler at the Coro Foundation's Public Affairs Awards Dinner on March 2, 1978. Other items in this folder include a note from Freddie Miller with the names of the other recipients; a brochure of the event; a program of the event; a phone-o-gram for Freddie Miller from Judy Anderson of GM Public Relations requesting a copy of the speech; a note from Freddie Miller recommending taking a table; two photographs with a note from Andrea L. Fisher, Executive Director of the Coro Foundation; two copies of a letter from Coro (C. Thomas Wilck, Peggy Funkhouser and Andrea L. Fisher), providing additional information regarding the event; a note from Coro requesting Chandler's biography; a letter to Vance L. Stickell from March Fong EU and Thorton F. Bradshaw of Atlantic Richfield Company, in which they invite Stickell to the event and enclose a card to return with those who commit to buy or sell tables; the card to buy or sell tables; a thank you letter from Lloyd B. Dennis, Chairman and President of Coro Foundation; two letters of correspondence between Assemblyman Paul T.     A note is in the file that states "No speech prepared. OC [Otis Chandler] spoke ad lib with a Q & A session following." The note is signed "f" [Freddie Miller]. Also in this file are two letters; a letter from Richard G. Davidson, Program Chairman of the Rotary Club of Pasadena, confirming a phone conversation regarding the speech and also requesting biographical information. The other letter is from Freddie Miller to Richard G. Davidson, responding to his request.

    Four copies of a speech given by Otis Chandler at the Editorial Awards Banquet on Friday, January 21, 1966. Three of the copies are typed. However one of them has hand written notes. The 4th copy is hand written. Other items in this folder include a list of awards and honors won in 1965 by Los Angeles Times Staffers; a memo from Freddie Miller to Otis Chandler regarding what kind of speech to give; a copy of the banquet's schedule, and a head table seating chart.

    Four copies of a speech given by Otis Chandler at the Sigma Delta Chi National Convention on November 13, 1975. Other items in this folder include a four page copy of an article from The Quill entitled "Assemble In Philadelphia"; a letter to Nancy Baltad from Otis Chandler, thanking her for her hospitality; a response letter from Nancy Baltad saying the pleasure was all hers letter from Robert S. McCord, Executive Editor at Arkansas Democrat, letting Chandler know he is going to be the one introducing him at the dinner; a letter from George A. Stauter, Chairman for Personnel '76 National Convention, regarding arrival plans; a thank you note from Sherry Stern, President of USC's Sigma Delta Chi Chapter; a note from Freddie Miller regarding hotel arrangements; four letters to Otis Chandler and a note to Freddie Miller from Henry Rieger, Vice President of Public Information at National Broadcasting Company, Inc., in which he invites him to be speaker, confirms the date, and sends his regrets for not attending; a letter from William Small, President of The Society of Professional Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi, inviting Chandler on a walking tour; a letter from Freddie Miller to William Small informing him that Chandler will not be able to attend the tour due to his arrival time; a note from Nancy Baltad, Chapter Delegate of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and Hospitality Room Chairman, inviting Chandler to stop by the Hospitality room that the chapter and the LA Times are hosting; a letter to Russell E. Hurst, Executive Officer of The Society of Professional Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi, from Freddie Miller, in which she is sending him Chandler's biography and photograph; a letter from Russell E. Hurst requesting Chandler's biography, photograph and itinerary; three letters of praise, each has a thank you response letter from Otis Chandler; a letter, with an attachment, from Walter Burroughs informing Chandler of the compliments he's heard about the speech and also sends him a newsletter called "Update" which thanks Chandler for the great speech; and a four page edited copy of the speech sent out for reprint which has a note to Freddie Miller attached to it.

    Israel Bond Dinner

    A copy of an introduction given by Otis Chandler at the Israel Bond Dinner on December 10, 1969. He served as Honorary Chairman. Also included in this folder are three letters from Eugene L. Wyman, of the Law Offices of Wyman, Bautzer, Finell, Rothman & Kuchel, which he thanks Chandler for consenting to be the Honorary Chairman, sends him a copy of the invitation, and a copy of a typical letter requesting certain individuals to serve on the dinner committee; a letter from Otis Chandler to Eugene Wyman, informing him that Missy [Marilyn Brant Chandler] will be attending the dinner; and a memo from Freddie Miller, informing Chandler that he has three introductions to make at the dinner, but no speech.
