Sterling, Vice President of Newspaper 1, in which Sterling praises Chandler, and Chandler responds with a thank you letter; two pieces of correspondence with Theodore H. Mecke, Jr., Vice President of Public Affairs at Ford Motor Company,in which Mecke praises Chandler and Chandler responds with a thank you letter; two pieces of correspondence with John L. Scolaro, in which Scolaro forwards Chandler a story about the speech, and Chandler responds with a thank you letter; two pieces of correspondence with Lee H. Wilson, in which Wilson forwards a copy of The Adcrafter, and Chandler responds with a thank you letter; two pieces of correspondence with Susan Schneyer, Associate Producer of The Lou Gordon Program, in which he is invited to appear, but Chandler responds with a letter declining, also attached to these letters is memo from Gordon Phillips to Freddie Miller with information about the show; two pieces of correspondence with John L. Scolaro, dealing with suggestions for the speech, and Chandler responds with a thank you letter, also attached to these letters is a note from Don Maldonado informing that the memo came from the regular Detroit mail to the advertising people.

    1 item: faint photocopy of handwritten letter from Marian Otis Chandler to Frank A. Garbutt, date not visible. He had written a "tribute" to Harry Chander, possibly at the time of Chandler's death in 1944, and Marian wanted to thank him. "Because of your long association you could speak with understanding," she wrote.

Lerude, Executive Editor and Vice President of Reno Newspapers, Inc., regarding a copy of a booklet on their Pulitzer Prize work which Ron Einstoss had asked Lerude to forward to Chandler. Also in this folder is a thank you letter from Chandler to Ronald H. Einstoss, Publisher of the Nevada State Journal.

    Arizona Newspaper Association Convention

    Three copies of a speech given by Otis Chandler at the Arizona Newspaper Association on January 21, 1977. One of the copies does not include the introduction and another copy has hand written notes on it. Other items in this folder include two letters from Eugene N. Marten, Publisher of The Verde Independent, requesting Chandler to be speaker and the other he thanks Chandler for accepting. Attached to these two letters are notes from Freddie Miller urging Chandler to accept. A letter of praise from Mrs. Eugene C. Pulliam [Nina Pulliam], Publisher of the Phoenix Republic and Gazette; a letter of praise from William J. Woestendiek, Executive Editor of The Arizona Daily Star; a memo from Robert L. Flannes to Otis Chandler regarding Alan Moyer. Attached to this memo is a note from Donna Swayze to Freddie Miller informing her that Chandler already talked to Moyer and Chandler declined the speech request. A thank you letter from Hal Marshall, Director at The University of Arizona News Bureau, and a response thank you letter from Otis Chandler; a letter for praise from Paul A. McKalip, Senior Editor at the Tucson Daily Citizen, and a response thank you letter from Otis Chandler.
