    These five manuscripts deal largely with mining practices in California. HM 16583 is a letter to Fray Vicente de Mora, dated March 14, 1775, and is undersigned by several missionaries. HM 16584 (May 29, 1775) contains instructions regarding a decree regulating the prices of goods such as silver and gold. HM 16585-16587 (dated July 26 and November 17, 1780 and March 1, 1781) are letters to Joaquín Cañete that discuss details of mining.

    These two letters concern exploration and missionary work in Mexico and California. HM 24690, dated December 27, 1774, is from de Gamboa to the marqués. HM 24691, dated April 11, 1775, is from the marqués to de Gamboa. In Spanish.

    In HM 4058, de Gálvez discusses military relations and the prospects of farming in Sonora. Dated 1771, July 20 - August 30.     W. F. M. Arny attests to official documents

    Manuscripts

    These two manuscripts are Arny's written attests certifying the legal validity of documents related to two matters in New Mexico. The documents themselves are not included with either. HM 4009 concerns a territorial warrant for Miguel E. Pino, and is dated January 27, 1865, and HM 4010 is dated February 7, 1865, but the related documents are not described beyond "the foregoing."

    Pedro Fages letters to José Joaquín de Arrillaga

    These two letters are from Pedro Fages to de Arrillaga, who served as governor of California after Fages. HM 16580 is dated 1783, November 14, and is a request for payment. HM 16581 is dated 1785, July 1, and concerns punishment for troops that mistreat native women. In Spanish.
