The set is comprised of 12 molded star-shaped cakes of watercolor paints and one paintbrush, housed within a decorated tin box. The paints are affixed to the bottom of the box, and printed within the center (on paper) is: "Donald Duck Paint Set, No. 1422." The underside of the hinged lid bears black, red and white images of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and Dopey. At the bottom of the underside of the lid is printed "A Transogram Gold Medal Craft Set" and "[copyright symbol] Walt Disney Productions." "Copyright 1950 Walt Disney Productions" is printed at the bottom of the top lid illustration. Images of Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse painting feature on the top lid.

The set is comprised of 18 small, rectangular cakes of watercolor paint, two small, round porcelain dishes, and a quill brush. The paints, each embossed with an image of a frog, are arranged in three rows of six cakes each, between wooden dividers. The set is housed within a wooden box with a sliding lid; the title is printed on the lid.

    One boxed set of watercolor paints entitled The Best Water Colors: Transparent & Indelible Colors, for tinting photographs, lantern slides, drawings, school maps, magazines, photogravures, silk, satin, leather, and pyrography, (or burnt wood) etc., manufactured by Favor, Ruhl & Co., New York, Boston, and Chicago, ca. 1900. The set is comprised of 12 small, round cakes of watercolor paint within wooden tubs, affixed to the base of the box. "Best Transparent Water Colors" is printed in the center of the ring of paints. Directions for use are printed on a sheet which is mounted to the underside of the top lid. The cover of the lid is illustrated with a chromolithograph image of a girl who is painting in watercolor.

    One boxed painting set entitled Cracker Jack Painting and Drawing Book for Crayon and Water Color Painting, manufactured by Saalfield Publishing Company, Akron, Ohio, New York and Chicago, copyright 1917. The set is comprised of six small cakes of watercolor paint in wooden tubs, two metal dishes, a paintbrush, a box of 8 (5 are missing) wax crayons, and a painting and drawing book that contains chromolithograph and lithograph images for painting and coloring. Printed at the top of the title on the top lid is "It's an Ullman Coloring Outfit." "The Ullman Mfg. Co., N.Y." is printed at the bottom of the top lid. The drawing/coloring book has been colored in, but not completely. The paints have been used. The painting book bears the copyright date of 1917.

The set is comprised of 40 rectangular, embossed cakes of watercolor paint, two round porcelain dishes, two paint brushes, and two embossed cakes of charcoal. The set is housed within a wooden box with a sliding lid. The paints are divided into 5 rows of 8 each, and each cake of paint is embossed with an image of a family crest. The lid is not labeled; a label is affixed, however, to the bottom of the paint brush compartment.

    One boxed set of watercolor paints entitled Water Color School Box, manufactured by Wadsworth, Howland & Co., Boston, Massachusetts, ca. 1895. The set is comprised of 10 small cakes of watercolor paint set within two rows of metal supports, one quill brush, one wooden stick, and a small stick of charcoal. The set is housed within a metal box; the lid is divided into four sections: the top two sections contain the manufacturer's name and address, the bottom two contain the title. The box is colored green and has gold lettering. A printed slip of paper is laid into the bottom of the box underneath the two rows of paints, so only a portion of it is legible: "When you need more of any of the colors in this box we will furnish them at short notice. Wadsworth, Howland & Co., Inc."
