  One painting book entitled Our Pets' Portraits Painting Book, published by Raphael Tuck & Sons Co., Ltd., New York, London and Paris, ca. 1910. The booklet is part of Father Tuck's Little Artists' Series. This booklet is 24 unnumbered pages in length, and is composed of color and matching outline images for coloring. The front cover is a chromolithograph of a girl painting a portrait of a cat. "Father Tuck's Little Artists Series" is printed in the lower right-hand corner of the front cover. The back cover is a chromolithograph of a boy, dressed in a sailor suit, carving a piece of wood. Printed at the bottom of the back cover are: "No. 3629" below the publisher's logo; "Designed at the Studios in England"; and "Published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, Co., Ltd., New York-London-Paris". The inside of the front cover contains "Instructions for Little Artists", which are continued on the inside back cover. Most of the images have been colored in.   One pamphlet/catalog, copyright 1927, entitled Creative Expression in Design, published by Milton Bradley Company, Springfield, Massachusetts. This pamphlet is 32 numbered pages in length, is illustrated with color reproductions of artwork, and includes two additional unnumbered plates of sample illustrations on colored paper. Roughly the first half of the booklet is informational and instructional, the second half serves as an illustrated catalog of a wide variety of artist's materials, including crayons, brushes, paper and paints. A color image of a woman wearing a headdress against a green background graces the front cover. "Cover design by Margaret Voight, a pupil of Polytechnic High School, San Francisco" is printed on the inside front cover. "Copyright, 1927, by Milton Bradley Company, Springfield, Mass." is also printed inside the front cover. The inside back cover and the back cover itself are blank. The text of the booklet emphasizes creativity in design, especially in relation to poster design. The original brown paper envelope accompanies the pamphlet.

  One drawing book/manufacturer's advertisement entitled The Singer Drawing Book for Young Artists, published by Singer Sewing Machine Co., ca. 1900. This promotional booklet contains 8 unnumbered pages of illustrations, each with its own sheet of tracing paper. The color illustration on the front cover is of three children gathered around a desk; the two little girls are watching the older boy draw. The color illustration on the back cover is the Singer Sewing Machine logo (a red S) superimposed on an image of a seated woman who is sewing with her Singer sewing machine. Some of the illustrations for tracing are promotional; the first image is of a sewing machine. The other illustrations are of children and animals. None of the images have been traced. "3-" (price) is written in ms. in the upper right-hand corner of the front cover.

The front cover illustration is dated 1879. Several of the images have been colored in. "#56 $4.00" is written in ms., in pencil, in the upper right-hand corner of the front cover.

This book is comprised of 16 unnumbered pages of chromolithograph plates and black and white images for coloring. The front cover is a chromolithograph of two children playing in the snow. "Copyright 1898 by McLoughlin Bros., New York" is printed in the lower left-hand corner of the front cover. The back cover is green and unillustrated. "A few Practical Instructions for Young Painters" is printed on the inside of the front cover. The inside of the back cover is blank. Each of the interior leaves is illustrated; poetic text accompanies each image. All of the black and white images have been colored in with either crayon or watercolor. "Clifford Mattson, Bantam, Conn., Feb. 26, 1903" is written in ms., in ink, in the upper left-hand corner of the front cover. "Gertrude B. Brock" is written in ms., in pencil, across the first page.
