    The upper image on what Baird identifies as p.1 is an illustration of Judge Terry stabbing Hopkins on Jackson street. The lower image on p.1 depicts mounted men with sabres surrounding the Armory at the corner of Montgomery and Washington Streets. To the left and right of the illustrations on p.1 is text describing the events of June 21st, 1856. "For sale at the "Daily Town Talk Office.""-text, below p.1 image. The upper image on what Baird identifies as p.4 is an illustration of Fort Vigilance with gunny bags outside of it, and armed men in the street and on the roof of the fort.
