Image contains seven vignettes depicting various stages in the coining of money. One vignette is an exterior view of the Branch Mint. The sheet is torn on the right side, and the vignettes on the right are missing portions. It also appears that the sheet was cut along the top and bottom. Image contains four vignettes. The upper vignette depicts travelers passing on a trail. There is a miner on horseback, a miner on foot, and characteristic way-side types: Indians, Negroes, Chileno, Mexican, Kanaka, Chinese, an expressman, and a group with a covered wagon. The bottom vignette depicts the Chinese battle of Five Cent Gulch in Weaverville on July 15th, 1854. The two smaller vignettes depict Indians with grasshoppers and Indians grinding acorns.
