    "Arrangement As Built P.M.S.S. Peru, No. 21"--title at top of sheet. The drawing shows two profiles--one a cutaway showing holds and engine spaces--and the six decks of the Peru. In the lower right corner is a case/sheet number, "1464-42150"; original right corner is missing. "1/15" = 1 foot"--scale given. "Peru"--on verso, in ms., in pencil. Unknown as to when the copy was made. The Peru operated for Pacific Mail between 1892 and 1919; built for PMSSCO by Union Iron Works in 1891-92; she was the second Pacific Mail vessel to carry this name. Focus of item: Peru (1892-1919).

    The sheet shows plans for two full decks, not identified, and steerage on the Peru; the deck plans show passenger accommodations, along with the dining saloon, social hall, smoking room and other amenities. Hand drawn on vellum; some color. "P.M.S.S. Peru. Passenger Plan"--title in the center of the drawing. "Scale 3/32 inch = one foot"--scale given. "Case No. 406s Sheet No. 5444s"--purple stamp, lower right corner, numbers in ms., in ink; stamp and the case number are the same as the one found on priJHK 00143, indicating the origin of the drawing is Union Iron Works Co., San Francisco. The Peru operated for Pacific Mail between 1892 and 1919; built for PMSSCO by Union Iron Works in 1891-92; she was the second Pacific Mail vessel to carry this name. Focus of item: Peru (1892-1919).

The City of Tokio is in the far left distance; print also shows the Yacht Magic and the Pilot Boat 18 in the right near distance. Magic won the America's Cup in 1870. The City of Peking is off of Sandy Hook, which can be seen in the right distance. "Eldredge Collection Mariners' Museum"--stamp in brown ink, verso, lower right corner. "Built for the Pacific Mail Steamship Company of New York City April 18th 1873"--text in drawing, center, upper right. "Principal Dimensions / Length at 12 feet water line 282 feet 6 inches / Length overall 300 feet / Depth from Base line to Gunwale 30 ft. 6 " / Beam moulded 40 feet"--text in drawing, center, lower left. "6-9-'93"--date, in ms, bottom right of image. "Case No. 72BS Sheet No. 4540S"--lower right corner, stamped on original; numbers, in ms., have been crossed out; stamp and the case number are the similar to the one found on ephKMSP 006, indicating the origin of the drawing is Union Iron Works Co., San Francisco. "1371-40616"--numbers above the original case and sheet numbers. "Colon"--in ms., in pencil, lower right corner. "2-1 Don"--on verso, in ms., in red pencil. Unknown as to when the copy was made.
