Description: Big Creek, Shaver Lake Dam - View of Shaver Dam, showing particularly Section 18, which was left low when work was stopped late in 1926 and to allow for spillway. This section is now being brought up along with the others but will be kept four feet lower for a while. The track running up along the face of the dam lengthwise of the picture is the one over which concrete will be supplied to one of the towers not shown in the picture and which tower will be out of reach of the chuting system. .

Big Creek, Shaver Lake Dam - Northwest Gas Shovel at work in the excavation at the north end of the Shaver Lake Dam. The man standing just below the team of horses in the upper central part of the picture is at approximately elevation 5370, which will be the top of the Shaver Dam. The excavation at this point has been made wider than really necessary for the dam in ordcer to secure material to make the fill for the bottom of the storage piles.
