Big Creek, Shaver Lake Dam

Description: Big Creek, Shaver Lake Dam - Northwest Gas Shovel at work in the excavation at the north end of the Shaver Lake Dam. The man standing just below the team of horses in the upper central part of the picture is at approximately elevation 5370, which will be the top of the Shaver Dam. The excavation at this point has been made wider than really necessary for the dam in ordcer to secure material to make the fill for the bottom of the storage piles.
