Big Creek, Shaver Lake Dam - Looking northward across Stevenson Creek channel over excavation for Shaver Dam and showing in upper left-hand corner the trestle leading to the crushing plant. The secondary crusher, together with bins over which screens will be installed, is just beginning to show up in this picture. It will be interesting to compare this picture with those which I expect to have taken on September 1st as there will be quite a contrast and a large amount of work will be shown as having taken place during the month of August. .

The man standing just below the team of horses in the upper central part of the picture is at approximately elevation 5370, which will be the top of the Shaver Dam. The excavation at this point has been made wider than really necessary for the dam in ordcer to secure material to make the fill for the bottom of the storage piles.

Big Creek, Florence Lake Dam - In this picture you will please note the section of flume which is fallen in and is a condition which I reported to you at the time. Also, please note the dismantling of the sides of the flume in progress at the right-hand side of the picture. The flume has been entirely dismantled at this time with respect to both sides, but I am unable to say just what quantity of tongued and grooved siding has been held for further use. Such as there is being piled outside of the camp 60 gate. Most of the trestle and floor is being burned. .

Big Creek, Shaver Lake Dam - View of Shaver Dam, showing particularly Section 18, which was left low when work was stopped late in 1926 and to allow for spillway. This section is now being brought up along with the others but will be kept four feet lower for a while. The track running up along the face of the dam lengthwise of the picture is the one over which concrete will be supplied to one of the towers not shown in the picture and which tower will be out of reach of the chuting system. .
