This edition, without synonyms, is the first known Italian edition of the anonymous Herbarius. Cf. BM 15th cent. Often wrongly attributed to Arnaldus de Villanova. Title page includes portraits of Avicenna and Arnaldus de Villanova. Includes 150 woodcut illustrations of plants. Chancery quarto, with paper measuring 19.8 x 14.1 cm; 33 lines; area of text: 14.4 x 8.9 cm. With woodcut initials; woodcut border on leaf pi2; initial spaces with guide-letters from leaf u2 until the end; paragraph marks and headlines; without catchwords. Signatures: pi⁴ a-x⁸ (pi1, t8 blank). Binding: green morocco; binder's stamp: Bound by Lloyd.
