Secretum secretorum was a popular, widely disseminated text in the Middle Ages; it was believed to have been written by Aristotle for Alexander the Great. The Latin text of Secretum secretorum was translated from the Arabic Kitab Sirr al-asrar by Philip of Tripoli, early in the thirteenth century. Translated by Philippus Tripolitanus.
