Description: Kashnor notes, "Proposed a string of forts from Fort Towson, on the Red River, to Fort Snelling, on the Mississippi, to keep the Indians in check. Locates the Choctaws, Creeks, Cherokees, Osages, Pawnees, and other nations." Map contains table of mileage and days march (at an estimated 15 miles per day) between various posts. MS note: 449 (on backing) Table: Approximate distance of Military Posts and depots included in the system of defence: also the day's march from one to the other estimating a day's march at 15 miles.
