Two Italian pattern books. The first is entitled Album Mondiale di Disegni per Ricami. "Serie N. 51" is printed in the lower left-hand corner of the title page. Sixteen unnumbered pages in length, this is a pattern book for embroidery and lace designs. The pages are printed in blue ink. The second pattern book is missing the front cover and at least the first 2 pages. What appears to be a running title is printed in the upper left-hand corner of each page: Riservati tutti i Diritti. This incomplete book is 34 unnumbered pages in length, with an additional 4 pages of manufacturer's advertisements at the end. The 34 pages of patterns are printed in white on black paper, and are labeled "Tavola" I-XV. "Tipografia della Societa anonima Dollfus-Meig & Co." is printed at the bottom of the last page of advertisements. The back cover is decorated with the stylized initals "DMC."

[see p.]."MS extension of the rail line in the bottom left, some place names added as well."In 1842 the first portion of the Milan-Venice (Lombardy-Venetian) Rwy. was opened. This line was first proposed in 1837; however, construction was postponed for a time, due to Austrian military activities in the region. By 1860, this railway had been extended northeast from Venice to Udine, where it met a branch of the Vienna-Trieste Sudbahn."
