Manuscript map, one of a group of three depicting Newfoundland. Appears to be a copy, made 1800 or later, of an earlier map. Shows the entrance into St. John's Harbour, Newfoundland. Shows the foundations and early building stages of two gun batteries, a smaller one on the north shore and a larger, more advanced one on the south. Colored.

Manuscript chart of the Gulf of St. Lawrence shows part of Newfoundland, Cape Breton Island, St. John's Island and Nova Scotia. Also shows the northern bank of St. Lauwrence to Point de Menepeles, and the south bank from Gaspé. Lower part shows the head of the Bay of Fundy. A copy by Charles Rivez, probably drawn in 1757.

Manuscript map done by Emmanuel Hess depicting a portion of the Mohawk River with Canada Creek and showing Fort Herkimer (sometimes spelled "Herkemans") on the north bank, along with several outbuildings: barn, houses, church, etc. The map shows the outline of the old fort destroyed by Webb in his retreat from defeat at Oswego. Also shows the road to Albany.

An inset shows the canon elevations, with bar scale given as 2.75 inches = 40 feet (1:175). Signed: "Em. Hess, Lieut. in the Royal American Regiment".
