A panoramic view of the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, with some kind of pre-game activities (possibly a band, or military group?) going on on the field. The horseshoe shaped stadium is mostly empty, with a crowd of people on the lower benches on the near side, an even smaller crowd on the far side on the right, and a block of people in white on the far side on the left. There are three rows of uniformed people standing along the far sideline of the field, and two groups of military men in the near left corner. A line of automobiles is parked in the far left corner of the stadium. There is a podium hung with bunting on the right side of the field, with a tall empty flagpole even farther to the right. There is a large hand-operated scoreboard on the far right, at the open end of the stadium. Very faint writing in white in the upper right corner reads "228B".

A slightly elevated panoramic view of the 1925 Rose Bowl Game between Notre Dame University and Stanford University at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. The stands are almost filled, and there are a couple hundred more spectators watching over the stadium fence on the far right. The game is in progress, with the two teams in the middle of a series near the goal line on the left. There are men positioned at several places along the near sideline with photographic cameras, and one man near the goal line has a motion picture camera. There is a very tall flag pole on the far right with a large American flag, as well as a speaker system and score board. A large number of automobiles are parked on the far right, beyond the open part of the stadium (which was, at the time, shaped like a horseshoe). Writing in white in the bottom center reads "Pasadena Rose Bowl. Jan. 1 1925. ; Notre Dame 27. Stanford. 10".
