There are three rows of uniformed people standing along the far sideline of the field, and two groups of military men in the near left corner. A line of automobiles is parked in the far left corner of the stadium. There is a podium hung with bunting on the right side of the field, with a tall empty flagpole even farther to the right. There is a large hand-operated scoreboard on the far right, at the open end of the stadium. Very faint writing in white in the upper right corner reads "228B".

Small groups of what appear to be military men are seated on chairs on the track surrounding the field. The game is in progress, with the two teams in the middle of a series at the near 30 yard line. There are men positioned at several places along the near sideline with photographic cameras, and one man near midfield has a motion picture camera. There is a very tall flag pole on the far right with a large American flag. Writing in white in the bottom left corner reads "The Aerograph Co."

A slightly elevated panoramic view of the 1924 Rose Bowl Game between the United States Naval Academy and the University of Washington at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. The image is taken from the open end of the stadium (which was, at that time, horseshoe shaped), facing the field and the stands. There are five marines standing next to the base of the very tall flagpole in the center of the image, and dozens of sailors seated or standing along the near right edge of the field. The stands are mostly filled on the sides, but the far end is sparsely seated. The game is in progress, with most of the players on the field blurred due to motion. The stadium fence is visible on the far right, and there are a few people standing on the hill beyond it. There are a few automobiles parked inside the stadium at the near end of the field.
