    Eileen Senner collection on Robert Mezey

    Manuscripts

    Correspondence, photographs, writings, publications, and ephemera related to the poet Robert Mezey, collected by his former romantic partner Eileen Senner. Correspondence consists primarily of postcards and letters from Mezey to Senner, some including poetry. Writings include copies of publications in which Mezey's poetry appeared, broadsides, photocopies, and a small amount of handwritten notes related to his E.A. Robinson and Thomas Hardy projects. The collection also includes biographical articles and clippings, ephemera related to poetry readings and other events, and several photographs of Mezey.

    Broadsides and posters

    Poetry broadsides primarily authored by Dana Gioia, with a few by other poets. Also includes posters either featuring Gioia's poetry, or advertising poetry readings by him. Box 80 includes an incomplete set of The Printed Poem, The Poem as Print, an oversize broadside series edited by Dana Gioia and Alastair Reid, printed by James Trissel, and published by the Press at Colorado College. Posters include two samples of advertising used in the Los Angeles and New York City public transit systems featuring Gioia's poetry, and a few posters for Gioia's poetry readings. Box 81 includes broadsides printed by Michael Peich (Aralia Press, Green Library Press); Norman Clayton; and others including hit & run press, Red Hen Press, and Salt-Works Press.

    The professional correspondence (1963-2015), includes letters, notes, telegrams, faxes, cards, postcards from publishers, organizations, other writers, and readers. All letters are addressed to Paul Theroux unless otherwise noted; some folders also include correspondence from Paul Theroux. The agreements, literary contracts, correspondence, and royalty statements (1966-2015), include publishers, magazines and other publications, and literary agencies. The works by others (1969-2008), include a film treatment, novels, essays, poems, short stories, and a memoir written by, among others, Etienne Leroux, Alexander Theroux, Louis Theroux, Marcel Theroux, and Moritz Thomsen.
