Photocopies of correspondence to/from HGO held by other institutions were put at the end of the series; when known , the owner of the original is noted in the folder record in the database. Facsimiles may not be copied or published.

Copies of originals housed in The Huntington Library were removed. The originals can be found in the following collections: Thomas R. Bard Papers; Clara Bradley Burdette Papers; Henry E. Huntington Papers. Copies of originals from the following institutions were also removed: The Bancroft Library, University of California Berkeley; the Sherman Foundation Library, Corona Del Mar, CA; the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center, Fremont, OH; Bolton Hall Museum Archives, Little Landers Historical Society, Tujunga, CA; and the Haynes Foundation Collection, University of California Los Angeles. Date range is 1859-1938, with the bulk of material from 1890-1917.
