    Sherman Foundation

    Manuscripts

"Approx. 20 items: collection of letters to and from Harrison Gray Otis and Harry Chandler from H.J. Whitley, "O.F.B.," Moses Sherman, as well as many addressed to "Dear Friend" and signed "Thomas" as a code name, as well as excerpts of letters recorded at a much later time (prob. to save info from crumbling originals), these items are mostly dated between 1906 and 1919. In addition, this folder contains a number of memos, letters and clip copies from many years later, that it is difficult to link to the earlier material (?) It may have simply been a "catch-all" folder Bassett had while preparing his book. "
