The decision was made to modernize and standardize the spelling of countries, cities and place names on the folders and in the Finding Aid; this was done in order to facilitate electronic searching of the Finding Aid. The material in this collection was written from the continent and England resulting in a variety of dating styles and calendars; the decision was made to use the date provided by each author without any attempt on the part of the cataloger to establish whether the date was Old or New style. The Huntington Library also has Francis Benson newsletters to Sir Leoline Jenkins, 1676-1679 (HM 30314-30315).
