Frank J. Cotter scrapbook

A scrapbook created by Frank K. Cotter in the early part of the 20th century. The leather-bound scrapbook has a printed photo of Cotter pasted down on the title page; there is a modern autograph note, in an unknown hand, laid inside the front cover, with a few other printed items laid into the volume. The poems and short stories in the scrapbook are either printed clippings or typewritten copies, some of which were written by Cotter under his pseudonym Pat O'Cotter. The clippings and copies only fill twenty-five pages with the majority of the scrapbook containing blank and empty pages. The subjects covered are mainly World War I, Alaska, and the Klondike.

Leo Newmark scrapbook

One scrapbook believed to be kept by Leo Newmark between 1912 and 1942. It includes newspaper clippings (and a few other printed items) from various newspapers (both American and Foreign) and dealing with multiple subjects including: the Newmark family, "Emperor Norton" of San Francisco, obituaries of notable individuals, and local San Francisco and Los Angeles news and history. There are a few items in German and some of the clippings deal with the Jews, World War II, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter-Partei propaganda, Adolf Hitler, and Joseph Goebbels. On page 14 is an item from a German newspaper urging the German people to not frequent stores owned by Jews. The scrapbook contains an index at the end.

Scrapbook: San Marino Ward scrapbook history

This scrapbook was begun in 1972 and continued until early 1978. The beginning covers the formation of the Ward in 1963. This scrapbook documents the history of a Latter-day Saints ward in San Marino, California. The people documented include all of the ward leaders of this era, including short biographical sketches with head shots. The events covered include craft bazaars, socials, Christmas, birthday parties, fashion shows, home tours, the American Bicentennial, luncheons, special speakers, musical recitals, and costume parties. Also included, a lot of ephemera related to these events and people.

Edward Anthony Spitzka medical school scrapbook

This volume contains approximately 50 assorted documents, both pasted down and laid-in, plus an additional 12 pages or so of manuscript text in Spitzka's hand (including a few pieces of correspondence). The majority of the items relate to Spitzka's medical school course work at Columbia University including class descriptions and exam questions.

Myrtle Albright travel diary and scrapbook

Scrapbook compiled by Myrtle Albright while on her transcontinental railroad trip in the summer of 1920 with her sister Julia. Their journey crossed the central Great Plains, the Southwest, with a visit to a Native American school in New Mexico, and Southern California before continuing to the San Francisco Bay area, Salt Lake City, Yellowstone, Chicago, and back to Durham. The scrapbook contains souvenir postcards and clippings, buttons for "Elliott Tours," excursion tickets and pieces of travel ephemera, and photographs. A detailed account, most likely written by Albright, describes locations visited, the sights seen, and their experiences both on the train and at various destinations. Accompanying the scrapbook is a separate 21 page hand-written account of a 1925 motor tour that describes touring in the vicinity of Washington, D.C. and Richmond, Virginia, and describes historic monuments and the weather.

Frank Holme scrapbook

Scrapbook containing letters, drawings, photographs, and clippings belonging to Frank Holme. Although housed in a hardbound "scrapbook," all of the materials are loose. There are several items related to Holme's Bandar Log Press and the School of Illustration as well as several letters by designer and illustrator John Frew.
