Prang Dek-All

One boxed paint set entitled Prang Dek-All, manufactured by the American Crayon Company, Sandusky, Ohio and New York, ca. 1935. The subtitle on the box lid reads: "A thermo-setting color for decorating glass, metal, china, plastic and similar surfaces." The set is comprised of 6 bottles of paints, illustrated instructions, a paintbrush and two small wooden sticks for application. The kit is housed within an illustrated paperboard box.

Water Color School Box

One boxed set of watercolor paints entitled Water Color School Box, manufactured by Wadsworth, Howland & Co., Boston, Massachusetts, ca. 1895. The set is comprised of 10 small cakes of watercolor paint set within two rows of metal supports, one quill brush, one wooden stick, and a small stick of charcoal. The set is housed within a metal box; the lid is divided into four sections: the top two sections contain the manufacturer's name and address, the bottom two contain the title. The box is colored green and has gold lettering. A printed slip of paper is laid into the bottom of the box underneath the two rows of paints, so only a portion of it is legible: "When you need more of any of the colors in this box we will furnish them at short notice. Wadsworth, Howland & Co., Inc."

A collection of leaves from an unidentified missal, books of hours, and antiphonal; also modern ephemera. HM 82933 (1) leaves from a missal written for Chichester Cathedral, with decorated initials and possibly Flemish illuminated borders. The five leaves are bound into a volume with black Morocco binding and two ribbons laid in; with the bookplate of Edward J. Loftus pasted onto first page.

These "Remembrance Leaves" are signed autograph poems, notes, and religious sayings, some with watercolor illustrations; there is also a pressed flower and a braid of hair. Thirty-three leaves are in German and one leaf is in English; there are also unused blank leaves. The leaves are housed in a green leather, gold embossed box made to look like an autograph album; the corners have some damage and the front cover is loose.
