Press Release - Monumental Alexander Calder Sculpture to Welcome Visitors to The Huntington

The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens announced today that it will display a monumental work by American artist Alexander Calder (1898-1976) lent by the Calder Foundation, New York. Morse (1791–1872), of Morse code fame, may be better known as an inventor, but he began his career as a painter, and his extraordinary six-by-nine-foot masterwork, Gallery of the Louvre, will be on view at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens Jan. 24 through May 4, 2015.
