Larry J. Burik, assistant vice president for campus facilities at Pitzer College, has been named Vice President of Facilities at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens, Huntington President Laura S. Trombley announced today.

NASA’s Orbit Pavilion sound experience is scheduled to land at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens for a four-month stay, inaugurating a new initiative at The Huntington focused on creative collaborations with other organizations.

The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens will present a major international loan exhibition exploring the art, craft, and cultural significance of Chinese woodblock prints made during their golden age, with works made from the late 16th century through the 19th century.

David S. Zeidberg, Avery Director of the Library, has announced his retirement effective December 2017. Zeidberg has held his position at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens, since March 1996.

Anne Rothenberg, longtime Huntington supporter and a trustee since 2005, has been elected chair of the Board, effective July 1, 2016.  She will be the first woman to lead the five-member governing board responsible for The Huntington’s financial sustainability and overarching direction.

The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens announced today that it has acquired three early 20th-century British paintings associated with the legendary Bloomsbury Group and the influential Slade School of Art in London. The institution also has acquired an 18th-century Italian marble table-top sculpture.

This summer, The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens will host internationally acclaimed photographer and sculptor Mary Beth Heffernan in an artist-in-residence arrangement made possible by a grant from Los Angeles arts organization Photographic Arts Council/Los Angeles.
