Generations of Filipinos have influenced and been shaped by culture in the Americas, from the Manila galleon trade to the Philippine American War, and from the Manong Generation to today. With the hosts of the This Filipino American Life podcast, attendees are invited to share and reflect on questions inspired by THIS LAND IS … and their own family narratives and experiences through artmaking, discussion, and a light tasting menu by Justin Foronda of HiFi Kitchen.
This Filipino American Life is a podcast that explores the nuanced experiences of Filipinos in the United States.
Co-presented by The Huntington and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival as part of a multiyear partnership with the Smithsonian Institution.
This project received funding from the Smithsonian’s Our Shared Future: 250, a Smithsonian-wide initiative supported by private philanthropy and created to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary and advance the Smithsonian’s vision for the next 250 years.
