Group Educator Orientation
For schools, district coordinators, and other educator groups: Learn how to make the most of The Huntington’s resources through private sessions with our Educator Programs team.
Get inspired by The Huntington’s resources with a private group educator orientation. Your group will enjoy a one-hour overview of how to take advantage of our school programs, digital classroom resources, and tools for object-based learning. If your group is interested in a specific subject or primary source, a two-hour customized experience is available.
One-Hour Classic Orientation
This one-hour workshop includes essential information on how to take advantage of The Huntington’s educator resources, including:
- Brief overview of The Huntington’s three collections: Art, Botanical, and Library
- How to research primary sources using Collections at The Huntington
- How to practice using our See-Think-Do learning framework with an object in the collection
- Introduction to the Huntington Digital Guide
- How to bring students on a School Program visit
- Information about educator workshops and support
Two-Hour Customized Experience
If your group is interested in a specific subject or primary source, our Educator Programs team can create a tailored two-hour workshop. Past groups have requested workshops on topics such as art and whole-body movement, empowerment through art, the intersection of music and art, and teaching with the Chinese Garden. Our team is excited to work with you to create a custom workshop that fits your needs.
Locations and Fees
Please note fee is a flat rate for your group.
At The Huntington
Free admission to The Huntington is included after the workshop.
For up to 30 educators:
- One-Hour Classic Orientation: $200
- Two-Hour Customized Experience: $400
For 30 to 60 educators:
- One-Hour Classic Orientation: $400
- Two-Hour Customized Experience: $800
At Your School
For up to 100 educators:
- One-Hour Classic Orientation: $300
- Two-Hour Customized Experiences are not available at schools.
Virtual
For unlimited educators:
- One-Hour Classic Orientation: Free
- Two-Hour Customized Experiences are not available for virtual sessions.
