Air mail across the Pacific : San Francisco to Hong Kong

A black-and-white print published by the San Francisco Post Office advertising its trans-Pacific airmail service. The title of the print is in English, with Chinese text on the lower half describing how airmail was shipped from San Francisco to Honolulu, Guam, Manila, Macao, and Hong Kong. Text in Chinese also lists the postage rates and total duration of the flights varying by destination. The center of the print features Clyde H. Sunderland's aerial photograph of Pan American Airway's "China Clipper" flying over San Francisco, California. The top and bottom of the print include borders decorated with monoplane motifs. The printed signature at the lower center reads, "San Francisco P.O. 9-30-37-500."

A color-tinted lithograph with hand-colored details depicting a bird's-eye-view of San Francisco's Chinatown during its early development. The image was originally created by artist Louis LeBreton, printed by lithographer Francois Gosselin, and published by Henry Payot. The image depicts Chinese townspeople on the hilly outskirts of the town, shown wearing conical hats, loose clothing, and some smoking pipes. Other townspeople are depicted in traditional Victorian attire, shown walking down a central road leading to San Francisco Bay and Yerba Buena Island. Scenery includes sailboats, clouds, palm trees, rocky hills, and building structures. The lower left corner of the image includes a signature that reads "LeBreton." On the left side of the print, text below the image reads "Published by Henry Payot, 184 Washington Street," and below the right of the image, text reads "Paris, Gosselin, Editeur, Imp. 71, r. St. Jacques." The title is printed in both English and French.

A two-color lithograph depicting a view of Columbia in Tuolumne County, California set during the Gold Rush. The foreground of the central image includes factories, a horse-drawn wagon driving across town, and miners working in flumes, depicted against a view of town buildings with hilly landscape in the background. Twelve vignettes of building facades surround the central image; includes views of storefronts, churches, government buildings, hotels, and banks. Townsfolk and individuals on horses and horse-drawn wagons are illustrated in front of the building facades. The title is printed in the lower center of the image. The text below the title reads, "Published by Towle & Leavitt. Columbia, Tuolumne County, Cal." A color lithograph recruitment poster promoting Irish involvement in World War I. The upper half of the print includes a map of Ireland reading, "100,000 men still eligible," with two superimposed insets highlighting battles in Belgium, France, Greece, and Turkey that Irish regiments fought in. The lower half of the poster reads "Ireland at the front looks to Ireland at home to answer the call." The lower left corner includes the publisher's signature reading, "Issued by the Department of Recruiting for Ireland, 32 Nassau St., Dublin." Lithographer Alex, Thom & Co.'s signature on the lower right corner.

Three hand-colored lithographs of ornithological illustrations from A Century of Birds from the Himalaya Mountains. Prints include depictions of Vanellus goensis (plate 78), Ibidorhyncha struthersii (plate 79), and Anser indica (plate 80). All illustrations present the birds from a side-profile while posed standing on grassy plains. The birds' feathers, markings, beaks, and legs are colored. All prints include their title in the lower center, with signatures on lower left reading, "Drawn from Nature & on Stone by E. Gould", and lower right reading, "Printed by C. Hullmandel." The print for Anser indica includes text below the title that reads "2/3 Nat. Size," indicating that the other illustrations are life-size depictions of the specimens.
