The collection of images include a botanical specimen photograph card (sarcodes sanguniea torrey or snow plant of the Sierra), a U.S. Army encampment scene (Sacramento), portraits, and buildings. Among the photographs are roof tops (San Jose), the Santa Barbara Mission capturing priests in the corridor, Auburn Poultry Producer (store facade), William Chapman Ralston (1826-1875) San Francisco Banker, Miss Adams (Mormon actress), Mary Anderson's farm (Oakland), and a postcard photograph of First Bank in Northern California at Coloma. The Auburn Poultry photograph is noted as being a gift of Collis Halladay (1893) and a majority of the photographs cite "Hardy, 1945" which may refer to the original Grahame Hardy collection acquired in 1945.

The photographs consist of views within the counties of Los Angeles, Monterey, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Ventura, and San Francisco. Specific locations along the coast capture images of Angel Island, Coronado Beach, Lake Tahoe, Monterey Bay, Point Loma, Port Harford (Port San Luis), San Francisco Bay, and Sausalito Bay. Also included are images of what appear to be an early Chinese community of fisherman mending fishing nets and drying squid along the coast of Monterey Bay, San Francisco's Warner's CobWeb Palace, Don Antonio de Coronel's rancho, Gaviota Pass, and the Stanford University Gates in Palo Alto. Several images are credited to I.N. Cook, the Rhea Bros., E.W. Turner, R.J. Waters, and W.H.J & Co. The majority of the images are albumen but also include gelatin silver prints and carte de visite photographs. Handwritten notes cite "Hardy, 1945" which may refer to the original Grahame Hardy collection acquired in 1945.

The collection of mounted albumen California Mission views include seventy various interior and exterior images of the Royal Presidio Chapel of San Carlos de Barromeo de Monterey, Mission Santa Barbara, Mission San Carlos de Barromeo de Carmelo, Mission San Diego de Alcalá, San Fernando Rey de España, San Gabriel Arcángel, Mission San Juan Bautista, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Mission San Luis Rey, Mission San Miguel Arcángel, Mission San Antonio Padua, and the Mission San Antonio de Pala. The majority of the collection's annotations note "Hardy, 1945" which may refer to the Grahame Hardy collection acquired in 1945. Several images credit Waite as the photographer.

The location indicates that the photograph may have been taken from the commanding officer's residence, looking south, similar to an image taken by C.R. Savage (1832-1909). Battleship USS Oregon and "Old Abe," the war eagle

The two photographs depicting the Battleship USS Oregon are dated 1895, one is a bow view cyanotype and the second depicts a side view that has been retouched for a newspaper cut. Each image is mounted on cardstock and handwritten notes cite "Hardy, 1945" which may refer to the original Grahame Hardy collection acquired in 1945. The third image is an albumen trading card depicting "Old Abe," a captured eagle adopted by Captain Perkins of the Eau Clair Eagles (Co. C), 8th Wisconsin Volunteers, the bird traveled with the regiment during the Civil War between the years 1861-1864. This item's note references "Blanchard 1945."
