Albumen print of an Abraham Lincoln portrait produced as a cabinet photograph, reproduced from an ambrotype made by Samuel G. Alschuler in Urbana, Illinois in 1857. Caption states, "Copyright by W. H. Somers, 1885." Additional caption reads "Beatrice, Campbell, Nebraska". The handwritten inscription on the original backing of the frame that enclosed this card reads, "Photo of Abraham Lincoln. Property of William Haynes Somers. Born Mar 25, 1830 at Rockford, North Carolina. Died March 3, 1912 in El Cajon, Calif, age 82. From Grandma Somers to John Somers Hall - Christmas 1928." There is also a "property of" sticker on the back of the original frame that reads, "John Hall - 4824 Palm Dr. La Canada, California."
