Companies shown on Wharf Street include Seacoast Packing Corporation and Van Camp Seafood Company.

Visual Materials

Consists of thirteen photographs and cyanotype prints. Subjects include the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, Riverside county, Camulos Ranch, the 1937 annual Jayhawkers meeting, San Clemente Island goat hunt and Painters Woe Grotto, Point Fermin lighthouse in San Pedro, and Santa Catalina Island. Photographers include Taber, S.F. and L. Bynum.

A photograph of a series of three photographs put together to form a panorama of San Pedro Harbor. The photographs are by I. W. Taber and have the following captions printed underneath: "3122. Rattlesnake Island, San Pedro Harbor, The Breakwater and Dead Man's Island"; "3123. San Pedro and Rattlesnake Island." and "3124. San Pedro Lumber wharves from Rattlesnake Island." Ships and wharf can be seen in the view.

A panoramic view of Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro. The beach is along the coast, on either side of the breakwater. There are numerous sailboats and larger vessels in the background, but very few people on the beach and in the water.

Collection of 53 glass plate negatives and corresponding copy prints by photographer W.H. Fletcher of views in Southern California during a period of industrial expansion and population growth primarily in the late 1800s. The images chiefly depict downtown Los Angeles, San Pedro and Terminal Island, and Long Beach. The views of Los Angeles include commercial streets and storefronts, construction sites including the building for Hamburgers Department Store (circa 1907), Main Street and the Church of Our Lady, and views of the town from 5th and Beaudry. The views of San Pedro and Terminal Island include the town of San Pedro, the harbor and docks with moored ships, and the hotel and bathhouse on Terminal Island. The views of Long Beach include the pier and beach, commercial streets and storefronts and residences. In addition there is a view of a miner washing gold in San Gabriel Canyon (Item 48); rural Duarte (Item 49); a street in Pomona (Item 50); a street in Riverside (Item 51); a view of the Point Fermin lighthouse (Item 52); and a view of oak trees (Item 53).
