    A collection of 20 photographs of Yosemite National Park in California, mostly taken in Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove. The photographs feature "big trees" (i.e. Sequoia trees) in Mariposa Grove, several waterfalls, such as Nevada Falls, Vernal Falls, Yosemite Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls, and a number of peaks and geological formations, such as Sentinel Rock, Cathedral Spires, the North and South Domes, Cap of Liberty, and El Capitan. Some of the images include people, presumably tourists. The only man-made structure in the album is Black's Hotel. Some of the photographs are by Carleton E. Watkins, some by the Yosemite National Park Co.

    A collection of 71 photographs with views of California, including the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara, and lanscapes in Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Grove, and Sunny Slope Winery in San Gabriel. The photographs of San Francisco show hotels, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, and the homes of people like Governor Stanford, Mrs. Mark Hopkins, Charles Crocker, and J.C. Flood. Views of the Yosemite Valley show numerous waterfalls and rock formations such as El Capitan and Half Dome. All of the images except one are photographs by I. W. Taber; one image is a reproduction of an illustrations of a wagon drawn by six horses racing along a cliff, signed E.A. Rockwell and dated 1876 (Item 10).

    Disbound album containing 48 commercial photographs of California, the majority by photographer Isaiah W. Taber, especially of San Francisco, Monterey, and Yosemite. Views of San Francisco show the bay, Fort Point, Palace Hotel, California Street Hill, a Chinese restaurant interior, a vegetable and butcher shop and a Protestant mission school in Chinatown, cable cars, Golden Gate Park, Cliff House, and snow in the city (image dated February 1887). Views of Monterey show the first barracks of U.S. troops, the Hotel del Monte, El Carmel Bay, and a cypress tree. Views of Yosemite show Glacier Point, the Lower Cascades, Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, and the North Dome. Other subjects that appear in only single images are San Rafael, Marin County; Healdsburg, Sonoma County; the J. C. Flood residence, also known as Linden Towers, in Menlo Park; Mission San Luis Rey; Mount Shasta; the Geysers, Sonoma County; Riverside; Santa Barbara; a black oak forest; a monument at the Mexico-California border; Calaveras; Mariposa Grove; a mountain lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains; Lick Observatory, near San Jose; a vineyard house; and an orange grove in Los Angeles County. Many of the photographs can be attributed to I. W. Taber; others are ascribed to "J. R. B."
