Description: One set of 37 drawings copied from didactic sources, created by E. Frances Botsford during 1915 and 1916. The drawings are in pencil and in ink, and are labeled. Most of the drawings are dated. The drawings refer to images from paintings (by Giotto, Rembrandt, Michaelangelo, and Raphael, for example), and feature architectural details, and scientific, labeled drawings of insect parts. Only the images of paintings and architectural details are dated and signed by E. Frances Botsford. Title supplied by cataloger.

One drawing book of original drawings, untitled, created by M.H.B., 1852. The drawing book is 10 unnumbered leaves in length, and contains original pencil drawings, mostly of landscapes and buildings. The drawing book is bound within marblized paper covers, and is untitled. The first drawing is signed "M.H.B" and is dated 1852; some of the other drawings are also dated 1852. Colored tissue paper guard sheets have been laid in between the leaves. Title supplied by cataloger.

One drawing book of original drawings, untitled, created by Wynna Wright in 1908 and 1909. The drawing book is 38 unnumbered pages in length, and contains pencil drawings of women, a few of which have been colored with watercolor. Some of the drawings are labeled. The book is bound in gray cloth; "Wynna Wright 1908, + 1909." is written in ms., in pencil, on the front cover. "Wynna Wright, 8 years old, June 13, 1908" is written in ms. on the first page. A bookseller's label, "G.J. Esselen, Successor to Mrs. J.C. White, 19 Bromfield St., Boston, Mass." is mounted to the lower left-hand corner of the inside back cover. Title supplied by cataloger.

The first 6 drawings (Env. 45-50) are charcoal drawings of geometric solids; the next 3 (Env. 51-53) are also charcoal drawings, the first two are of a statue face, the third of a bowl; the next 2 (Env. 55-56) are colored chalk drawings, and the last envelope (Env. 57) is a two-sided leaf of ms. notes, in pencil. One drawing book of original drawings, untitled, created by Henry S. Tubbs in 1883. The drawing book is 16 unnumbered pages in length, and contains 9 pencil drawings and 6 additional pencil drawings which are laid in. Most of the leaves in the book are blank. The drawings on the leaves include a small fairy, houses and landscapes, and floral designs. The drawings on separate sheets that have been laid in include a map of Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi signed "Drawn by Henry Tubbs."; a house; a sailboat, and a whimsical image of a foot, with piglets for toes, with a "This Little Piggy" rhyme written in ms. alongside it; this drawing is on tissue paper. Tissue paper guard sheets are bound in between the leaves. Title supplied by cataloger.

One drawing book of original drawings, untitled, created by Anna Carpenter, ca. 1845? The book is 24 unnumbered leaves in length, and contains both original and (presumably) copied pencil drawings. The first few pages are exercises of lines and shapes, and the remaining pages include images of trees, houses, landscapes, and fences. Tissue paper guard sheets are bound in between the leaves. "Anna Carpenter" is written in ms. in the upper left-hand corner of the inside front cover. "10.00" (price) is written in ms., below it. The accompanying note written by DK reads in part: "Amazing progression in one book." Title supplied by cataloger.

Drawing Book

One drawing book of original and copied drawings entitled Drawing Book, created by L.A. Cunningham, 1854-1872. The book is comprised of 22 leaves of pencil drawings, some of which are dated between 1854 and 1872. The front and back covers are illustrated with engravings; the illustration on the front cover is of Egyptian stone ruins, and is within an elaborately decorated frame. The image on the back cover is of a floral arrangement, also within an elaborate frame. Many of the original drawings within the book are labeled in ms. by their creator, and include landscape views, views of houses, and floral arrangements or individual plants. "L.A. Cunningham, 1854" is written in ms. on the inside of the front cover. Accompanying this drawing book is a ms. note from DK that is a partial listing of the drawings in this book. According to DK's note, some of the drawings are copied from various Bartholomew drawing books.
