One boxed sets of colored pencils manufactured by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company. The pencils are wash colors, which were meant to be gone over with a brush dipped in water. Pencils are missing.
One box of erasers entitled Castell Gum Cleaners: for a Quick, Clean Job, manufactured by A.W. Faber, Inc., Newark, New Jersey. The paperboard box contains 18 individual erasers of varying sizes, three of which are A.W. Faber Castell Gum Cleaners. The two other brands present are Vitagum Artists Eraser and RubKleen (made by Eberhard Faber). The box is printed in red, yellow and blue.
Two boxed sets of colored pencils manufactured by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company entitled "Aquarello", Assortment No. 1163 and Mongol Thin Lead Colored Indelible Pencils, Assortment No. 741, ca. 1935. Both sets are wash colors; these are colored pencils that were meant to be gone over with a brush dipped in water. The slogan printed on each of the two interior labels reads "Paint with pencils." Each box is hinged box and has a snap closure. Pencils are missing from both sets. Title supplied by cataloger.
One boxed set of colored chalk crayons, labeled Alphacolor Chalk Crayons, manufactured by the Weber Costello Company, Chicago Heights, Illinois, ca. 1945. The set is comprised of 24 sticks of chalk housed in a rectangular cardboard box. Laid into the box is a small printed advertisement for "Other Weber Costello Products: blackboard, erasers, chalk, maps, globes."
One boxed set of color pencils entitled Artist's Assortment of Fine Crayons; the subtitle reads: "In 12 Colors, No. 663, Eberhard Faber; The Lead Used in These Crayons is Carefully Prepared from the Finest Pigments," ca. 1906. The box is divided into a top half which slides off and a bottom half upon which is an image of a windmill by a canal. The side reads "Box Pat. May 15, 1906" and in penciled block print "Eberhard." On the reverse of the box is a listing of colors with corresponding numbers. These are: 6629 Black; 6624 Purple; 6625 Blue; 6628 Green, Dark; 6618 Green, Light; 6615 Blue, Light; 6627 Yellow; 6622 Orange; 6620 Pink; 6626 Red; 6617 Crimson; 6623 Brown. Eleven of the original 12 crayon pencils remain--only #6617, Crimson, is missing.
One box of chalk crayons entitled The Winner Chalk Crayons, No. 890, manufactured by O.N.C. (Our New Crayon), ca. 1900. The box contains 7 pieces of chalk. Printed on the box are seven phrases: "Seven Colors"; "One Penny"; "For Slate and Blackboard Use"; and "We lead them all." The Falcon trademark appears in the center of the front side.
