Two sets of colored pencils manufactured Koh-I-Noor Pencil Company

Description: Two sets of colored pencils and one Universal Holder No. 48, manufactured by Koh-I-Noor Pencil Co. and L. & C. Hardtmuth, Inc., Czechoslovakia and Bloomsbury, New Jersey, respectively, ca. 1930. The larger of the two pencil sets contains 11 colored pencils and a "lengthener" within a paperboard box and slipcase. The second set is comprised of 4 unused colored pencils within a paperboard box and slipcase. The Universal Holder is a metal pencil-like holder "for Graphite leads No. 2018 - Negro leads No. 2610 [and] Sanguine Leads No. 2620." Title supplied by cataloger.

Two boxed sets of colored pencils manufactured by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company entitled "Aquarello", Assortment No. 1163 and Mongol Thin Lead Colored Indelible Pencils, Assortment No. 741, ca. 1935. Both sets are wash colors; these are colored pencils that were meant to be gone over with a brush dipped in water. The slogan printed on each of the two interior labels reads "Paint with pencils." Each box is hinged box and has a snap closure. Pencils are missing from both sets. Title supplied by cataloger.

Set 5: Prang Pastellex, No. 7 (8 wax crayons) Set 6: Prang Crayonex, No. 4 (16 wax crayons) Set 7: Prang Crayonex, No. 3 (8 wax crayons) Set 8: The Prang Art Education Crayons, Set No. 2 (8 wax crayons) Set 9: Prang Art Education Crayons, No. 2 (8 wax crayons) "M.S." is written in ms., in pencil, on Set No. 7.

One boxed set of colored pencils entitled Prang Paper Colored Pencils, manufactured by The American Crayon Co., Sandusky, Ohio, ca. 1935. The set consists of 12 colored pencils within a paperboard box (all are present). The pencils are paper-wrapped; they are "sharpened" by unwrapping layers of paper. Slipped into the box is an informational sheet about the pencils.
