    One price list/advertisement entitled Picture Studies for School Use, published ca. 1935-1940 by F.A. Owen Publishing Company, Dansville, New York. At the top of the front cover of this publisher's advertisement is "Instructor Picture Study Series." This advertisement and price list is a single sheet, folded into 6 pages. It is illustrated with black and white sample images, and is printed in black and orange. It states that reproductions are available both in miniature and in a larger format (9 3/4 in. x 12 3/4 in.), provides a list of subjects available, and categorizes some of the images into appropriate grade levels.

    One catalog entitled Catalogue of the Perry Pictures, by Eugene Ashton Perry, published by Perry Pictures Company, Boston and Malden, Massachusetts, 1908. This catalog is 32 pages in length, and contains primarily black and white illustrations, which are images of art reproductions for sale. Reproductions are organized by category, and size and price. Laid in are several order forms and additional price sheets, as well as a mailing envelope for ordering. Accompanying this catalogue is a mailing envelope in which it was mailed; it is from the Perry Pictures Company, printed in red and black ink, and addressed, in ms., to "Miss Mabel Spofford, 8 Cherry Street, Danvers, Mass." The front cover of the catalog is decorated; the insides of the front and back covers contain the history of the Perry Pictures Company and ordering instructions.

    One coloring book entitled A Boatload of Pictures to Color, illustrated by Corrine and Bill Bailey, published by The Saalfield Publishing Company, Akron, Ohio, and New York, copyright 1938. The title page reads: A Boatload of Pictures drawn for you by Corinne & Bill Bailey. This is a large, novelty coloring book that is 48 unnumbered pages in length. There is a storyline of text accompanying the pictures, written as if the reader was a passenger on a cruise ship. The illustrations are of things, people, equipment and sights associated with cruises and ships. The front and back covers are a single image of a large, modern ship sailing through the water. The cover illustration is signed "Bill Bailey." The insides of the front and back covers are blank. Many of the illustrations have been colored in with crayon. "April 5, 1939, Bruce C. Tibbetts" is written in ms., in purple crayon, on the inside of the front cover.

    One set of paper stencils entitled Drawing Pictures, manufactured (presumably) by Parker Brothers, Salem, Massachusetts, ca. 1890. The set is comprised of 5 titled paper stencils, each serving as an advertisement for 'Sweet Home' Soap, "Made by J.D. Larkin & Co., Buffalo, N.Y." The stencils are housed within a paper envelope which reads: "Drawing Pictures. 'Sweet Home' Soap made by J.D. Larkin & Co., Buffalo, N.Y. This envelope contains 5 Drawing Pictures: Thrown Overboard; The Girl & The Goose; The Rat & the Trap; The Elephant; The Rooster. Price for this package 6 cents, made in Germany." The stencils have been used.

    Five art reproductions by the George P. Brown & Co., Beverly, Massachusetts, published ca. 1925[?]. This set of reproductions belongs to the "Brown's Pictures" series. Each of these 5 cards is printed in black and white, and along with the image, contains, the series name, the word "Miniature", number in the series, and the artist's name. For example, the reproduction in env. 51 reads: "'Pilgrims Going to Church'; Brown's Pictures- Miniature- 66. Boughton." The other reproductions in this set are: "Signing the Declaration of Independence" by Trumbull; "Return of the Mayflower" [credit not given]; "Martha Washington" [credit not given]; and "John Alden and Priscilla" [credit not given]. Only the back of "John Alden and Priscilla," contains additional information; "This is a sample of Brown's Miniature Pictures, 840 subjects, size 3 x 3 1/4..." and list sitems and prices for others in the series. Title supplied by cataloger.

    One drawing book/leaflet entitled Easy Pictures for Slate Drawing, published by Lyon Manufacturing Co., New York, ca. 1860. This item is a promotional advertisement for several products: Lyon's Magnetic Insect Powder; Mexican Mustang Liniment; Hagan's Magnolia Balm; Plantation Bitters and Lyon's Kathairon. On one side of this 10-page accordian-folded leaflet there are 5 advertisements (four of which with woodcut illustrations); the other side consists of the front cover (printed in red, black and white) and four "pages" of white-on-black illustrations, made to look like slate drawings. The images for copying include domestic and farm animals. All of the pages are unnumbered. "4-" (price) is written in ms. in the upper right-hand corner of the front cover.
