    The sheet shows the profile and two decks of the steamship Starbuck; the plans for the decks show passenger accommodations, along with the dining saloon and other amenities. Hand drawn on vellum. "Pacific Mail Steamship Co.'s Steamer Starbuck"--title at top of sheet. No scale given. "Case No. 406s Sheet No. 5442s"--purple stamp, lower right corner, numbers in ms., in ink; stamp and the case number are the same as the one found on ephKMSP 006, indicating the origin of the drawing is Union Iron Works Co., San Francisco. The Starbuck was purchased in 1886 from William H. Starbuck of New York who had salvaged, renamed, and reflagged the vessel in 1885 after she had gone ashore at Moriches, Long Island; Pacific Mail overhauled her engine and hull in 1891; she was lost, without causalities, on February 28, 1899, after striking an uncharted rock off coast of Nicaragua. Measurements for the vessels are printed beneath the title. Key for cabin plan printed below title and vessel measurements. Cabin plan is similar to ephKMSP 048, with slight changes such as "Steerage" to "Asiatic Passengers" and the addition of a key for the staterooms. Once folded, now laid flat. "Pacific Mail S/S Co "Korea"-"Siberia""--on verso, in ms., in pencil. "National Bond"--watermark. Focus of item: Korea ; Siberia.

Hand drawn on vellum; some color. "P.M.S.S. Peru. Passenger Plan"--title in the center of the drawing. "Scale 3/32 inch = one foot"--scale given. "Case No. 406s Sheet No. 5444s"--purple stamp, lower right corner, numbers in ms., in ink; stamp and the case number are the same as the one found on priJHK 00143, indicating the origin of the drawing is Union Iron Works Co., San Francisco. The Peru operated for Pacific Mail between 1892 and 1919; built for PMSSCO by Union Iron Works in 1891-92; she was the second Pacific Mail vessel to carry this name. Focus of item: Peru (1892-1919).
