"Hull Nos. 233-234, Steamships-Mariposa & Alameda, Lines"--title of Dr. No. H-12106. "1/4" = 1 Foot"--scale given for Dr. No. H-12106. "Alameda, Mariposa"--on verso, in ms., in pencil, of all four prints. Measurements are for the largest blueline print. Unknown as to when these copies were made. Focus of item: Mariposa (1883-1911) ; Alameda (1883-1910).

The image is of the first Tennessee operated by the Pacific Mail Steamship Company; built in 1849, she was purchased in October, 1849, from the Savannah Steam Navigation Company; from 1850 to 1853, she operated between San Francisco and Panama; she was wrecked on 6 March 1853, at Bolinas Bay, four miles north of the entrance to San Francisco Bay. Focus of item: Tennessee.
